TEAM CUT CLASS DESCRIPTION AND RULES
Class is designed FOR EVERYONE, Amateurs, Non-Pros, Beginners and Open Riders! The Team Cut Class is an individual and a team competition. Each entry fee includes one round in the following positions:

Cut-Rider
Herd Holder Right Position
Turnback Right Position
Turnback Left Position
Herd Holder Left Position

One entry fee for 5 chances at winning a prize! 

The object is for the cut-rider to make one cut out of a herd of cattle settled on the back fence. Cut a cow in a smooth and appealing way drive to the center of a pre-drawn target in the sand and earn a high score for yourself and for the team of people helping you. Credit awarded to riders who select and drive up a cow from the herd to the target in the sand in 30 seconds using the judges score card below.  

Each cut-rider is scored according to the criteria in the judges card. Deep cuts, degree of difficulty are all credit earning. Losing a cow or taking more than 30 seconds and you're out of the money!

Class works like this:
Show producers draw multiple five team groups
Each contestant rotates through each position according to the draw (Cut-rider, Herd-holder right, Turn-back Left, Turn-back Right, Herd-holder Left)
The cut-rider score becomes the team score
Rotate to the next position for another opportunity until you have helped in all positions

Strategy Considerations
Slow is fast and the quality of the cut over quantity can't be overstated. 
Dull cows may be harder to drive
Wild cows may require a sneaky approach
The more you help the cut-rider, the greater your chances of winning a team award, but help too much and you drive down the score of your cut-rider

Any Non-professonal or Amateur rider may enter this class. 

Specific Show Rules
  • Class size limited to 50 riders (pre-registered through this website) 
  • The class will be drawn and posted by noon, the Friday before the show, but may be amended.
  • If the class has any open slots, contestants may register on site; however, they will be placed at the first available slot after the last pre-entered draw. 
  • One cow per cut-rider
  • 30 second clock for each cut-rider
